Nude on the Street



Last night I dreamed of me
I was nude on the street
trying to fly up to the top of a tree

The bells of a church rang
breaking the black of night
as if it were only glass

The light spilled everywhere
like water coming out of a jug
painting the shadows with life

Suddenly I saw myself in a crowd
laughing and pointing at me

I wanted my hands to be a dress
but how to hide flesh with flesh

how how how

I wanted I wanted I wanted

I wanted to disappear
I wanted not to be
I wanted to be able to fly
but the weight of my tears
did not let me take flight

tears, nakedness
tears, nakedness

That's how life was
in that dream on that night
